quiet, so I'll just comment on the frustrations of modelling. I'm working on
the 1/48 Roden SE5a, and that thing just seems to want to bite back. The kit
decals are brittle, and the roundels don't want to lie down. The interplane
struts are a nightmare, one broke loose during decalling, and I had to re rig
half of that side,? touchup city! I 'love' the SE5, but that kit is entirely
another matter,? even though I know it really isn't the kits fault.

kit I ever gave up with in frustration was a 1/48 Roden 1? <BR>Strutter
bomber.<BR><BR>The instructions don't instruct. There are no bomb bay
doors. Nothing <BR>stuck together with CA glue. I shattered the
ailerons trying to saw <BR>them off. The transparent plastic wings and
body were too brittle, and <BR>I'm just too ham-fisted.<BR><BR>I love their
1/72 scale ones, though. Working on 3 at the moment. <BR>incredible

search of the not so local Hobbytown I found both Allan's<BR>suggested product
Testors #1260, and a Tamiya color product.<BR><BR>First problem is that the
testors product is no longer behind a black and<BR>yellow label. The new
batch has an all white label, with gray tone<BR>lettering and a black
cap.<BR><BR>I'm going to do an experiment on a piece of plastic seeing how
each of these<BR>top coats affect paint and future. Look for an IM
article near you

Lacquer Thinner and shoot it through my airbrush. Goes down nice

L. Gray, "Albatros Markings of Jasta<BR>5" The article is reported to appear
in the the November 1971 edition<BR>of Scale Models magazine. I have done a
fair amount of work on a<BR>computer rendering of Bavarian marked Alb D.Va
aircraft which is<BR>thinly documented and I think this article may help. See
the attached <BR>rendering by Mark Miller. Mark has searched for the sources
he used and <BR>reports he cannot locate them. <BR><BR>Please advise if you
can help locate the article, or the magazine or <BR>if you have any
information regarding this aircraft.<BR><BR>I am aware at least two other
similarly marked planes, including one, flown by a Lt Wolf,<BR>which appears
in GK Merill's 2 vol set on Jasta 5 with profiles by Bob Pearson. There is
another <BR>Bavarian marked Alb which was flown by Walter Boning with Jasta
76b which appears <BR>in vol 1 of Albatros Aces of World War 1 by Norman
Franks.<BR>These two planes, though interesting, and part of my present
project,<BR>are not the primary focus of this inquiry.<BR><BR>Thanks for
