[WWI] What happened to 1/72 plastic?

     What Bud said.

I am also dismayed at the lack of OT offerings in 1/72 lately ( An Encore Pfalz in Blue Max scheme doesn't count, although it is oddly tempting).

But thankfully, almost every type has been covered at some time in 1/72, especially if you are willing to venture into resin and vac kits.

With available PE sets for many of them, they can be made to stand up very well in comparison to the larger sizes.

I've had bad eyes since grade school, and still love this scale. They are easy to store, even in whole squadrons, and relatively cheap to buy.

Large bombers are also doable in 1/72 (in ot, I noticed the Hughes Hercules is now available - try THAT in 1/32!)

And, admittedly, I don't feel the need to add every tiny detail to my models. I hope to build my collection before I go home, and you just can't see that far into a tiny cockpit under a wing.

                                                                             J.R. Boye

Whenever I go on the site and search the model archives, the really exotic kits are ONLY in 1/72 scale. Has anyone seen an AD scout or a Farman, any Farman, in 1/48 scale lately. So, next time you 1/72 scale guys are feeling sorry for yourselves, go search the archives.
Enviously,
Bud
