Any triplanes except Nieuports unless they are Nieuports. Naglos, FK's, Aviatiks, etc are welcome.

I will award a special prize for a Caproni triplane.

A more comprehensive email will be sent tomorrow.

Nick,

If the light blue acrylic you are mentioning is for the base color my understanding is the base color is CDL and only the F, I's had a base color of light blue which some people disagree with.
From my understanding the triplane contest can be any triplane like Pfalz Dr. I Albatros Dr. i or Dr/ II,Sopwith triplane, Nieuport triplane or the Siemens Schuckert DDr. I.

Hi, Rob. That's really very kind, I do however, have the Eduard dual combo kit which, as luck would have it also has the Kempf decals, however if the roolz don't permit then I've got to use the kit decals as supplied. The problem there is waiting three months for a sunny day in Britain to leave them in the window to bleach out, by which time the contest is history (Is it it already??). Your offer is very appreciated, though, and Thank you. I could be making a rod for my own back here, though, because that Fokker streaked camo is going to be the real issue for me with this kit, it is going to be hard to do without it looking like a mess. I was thinking of using artists oils over the light blue acrylic, because they can kept workable and blendable, the problem there is the three days to a week drying time. And it gets better, because I was thinking to get it done in a couple of weeks, because once the Part etch set that I am waiting for arrives I will have to start the Friedrichshafen from Techmod. Nice. Thanks again for your generous offer, Rob.

                                                           Cheers,

                                                                  Nick

  Hi Nick,
If they're like mine, which are as old as yours, the white is really Yellow and they are very thick. If you want to do that particular bird, I've got some Aeromaster I can send you.

  Hello, Rob!
What is the issue with the decals? I do think the carrier film looks rather thick. Do they not settle easily? The last Dragon kit I built was the stars and stripes Spad and that was about 300 years ago. Thanks for any advice you could offer on this.

                                                                                                                          Cheers,

                                                                                                                                   Nick.

I'd watch the decals on that if I were you.

The dragon kit goes together very well.

Hi, Brent. Is it too late to join in on this one? Has it kicked off yet? Just finished a lengthy headache of a build (and posted the pics to the gallery!) and I've an ancient Dragon fokker Dr.I (kempf) in a squashed sunbleached box which I've had for the best part of 20 years. I reckon this is a good opportunity to get it built. If I've missed the boat it'll probably be another 20 years. And an even more faded box. And the little dead spider in the box will be fossilised (he did not come with the kit).

                                                                                                         Cheers!
