[WWI] Petaluma Ace Evidence!

So I'm finally posting the photos from today's Hobby Expo show in Petaluma, California.

The standers in group photo are (l to r) Tom Young, Mike Vice, Michael Scott and Rick Ewing. Squatters are Bud Pearson and J.R. Boye.

I also included a photo of the combined "biplane" class. Bud's entries are behind the Wingnuts LVG, and mine are behind his on the green plaques.

Thanks to Dennis' absence, I had a little "breathing room" in the
"biplanes" class which was conveniently split because of the number of
entries. The "damn Fokker Dr. I" (Reinau) was actually second, and the SSW D.III (Ziegesar) was given first place. Bud's winner was his Nieuport 17 (Bishop).

The final photo shows my 1/72 1914 Ford ambulance conversion battling it out in the "open top military" class against a pair of OT armored cars. Despite being un-armed, it was victorious...

It was great hanging out with Bud and Carol and Mike at their tables and getting to know them better, and getting to meet Michael and Rick.

                                                                                                            J.R. Boye

Hey, Diego!

How much trouble would it be to lend me your
finger-chopper? Bud won a second today in "over 1/72-scale" and
J.R. won a first and a second in 1/72-scale. Gonna have to lean on J.R.--he
keeps entering that same damn Fokker Dr.I that he won with last year and keeps
on winning awards. Hell, at this rate he'll fill his mantlepiece using
that single kit!

A good time was had by all and I believe some photos are to
be posted but I'm not sure. I was so tied up in getting my sales stuff ready
that I forgot to take my camera but I know some pics (including group photos)
got taken.

                                                                Mike
