Brian,

a lot of ideas from The List to think about.

I don't have Excel, so my catalogue is done on Open Office (which is similar to Word but less "helpful"). I've split it into three - all on the same document, one above an other - making cross-referencing quite simple.

The first is the most complicated and list the manufacturers in alphabetical order. Under each manufacturer is the name of the aircraft, the kit number, the date I bought it, how much I paid for it and which country I bought it from. Two (so far unused) columns indicate start and finished dates for each kit.

The second part is simply a chronology. It lists the order in which I bought each kit (thereby giving each kit a number), the type of aircraft, the manufacturer and the date bought.

The third part is listed under aircraft manufacturer:- A.E.G, Airco, Albatros etc. Under each heading is listed the aircraft type and then the kit maker.

This works for me as I only buy in 1/72 and I find it very handy when I'm searching e-Bay for that bargain that no-one else has spotted.

I'm still searching!!!!!

Chris.
