I also generally agree with these comments on turnbuckle efforts to date. Working in 1/32, I want to see what I might be able to get using a larger diameter drill bit for a spacer, then elongating the opening but leaving enough space to pass the monofilament through. Then, using white glue or something on the snipped off end of line, simulate the other end of the turnbuckle, painting or using a magic marker accordingly. Confused? Me too. But I like fiddling around with this sort of thing. I don't get many models done but it's fun.

Hi Diego,

I actually agree with you and Shane. Even in 1/48 scale, turnbuckles tend to attract the eye too much. I think the only reason that I want to try to improve on the technique is that rigging is so much easier with turnbuckles. Monofiliment is my favorite rigging material and with turnbuckles, I don't have to drill through then try and patch up holes. Also, with fuselage attach points, the only way to drill through is to go through the top wing and my skills are not up to that. So I'll see how it goes a few more times and if they still look too big, I'll give it up.

Cheers,

Bud
