[WWI] What happened to 1/72 plastic?

I think we've drifted a long way from the OP's question about 1/72 plastic without a hell of a lot of thought.

There's surely a drop off in injection moulded *OT* kits in 1/72, but let's face it, there never really have been all that many of them compared to kits of other genres. The last decade has been an abberation, because both Eduard and Roden started out with our favourite period.

That doesn't mean there's been any enormous drop off in 1/72 kit releases. For example the real parent of 1/72 - Airfix - is pumping out multiple new mould kits and selling them by the shipload again.

Not OT kits - but nevertheless not stymied by such defeatism as assuming none of us can see any more.
