[WWI] 1/72 SPAD VII

I saw an article in an old issue of WS on correcting the SPAD VII kit recently, and I think the main thing with the wings (besides the starving cow look) is they are too far apart and the strut length should be reduced.

Mine is hanging on the ceiling and it looks like a SPAD VII to me

  Subject: [WWI] 1/72 SPAD VII

I have a collection of 1/72 WW1 models hanging over my desk-- I'd like to add a SPAD VII to the collection.

The only kit I'm aware of is the old Airfix kit, and IIRC, it has some dimension issues with the wings. (Chord too small?)

Would it be possible to use some SPAD 13 wings from some other kit with the Airfix fuselage to get a better SPAD 7?
(I don't know much about the differences between the two, obviously.)

I'm looking for something that will look like a SPAD 7 form a few feet away. I don't care about the interior at all-- I'll be sticking a pilot in there anyways.
I'm not really interested in a resin kit becasue of the weight of the finished model.

  Any ideas/comments?

  Thanx......
