According to Alan Toelle, the outlines might have been a sort of greyish blue, matching some fishplates. The French N11 restoration has the lines painted in dark gray/black (scale black???) and I recall some profiles that ventured a brownish colour. Pick your favourite.Few may be able to argue too much about it.

I'm in the process of throwing together an Eduard Nieuport 11 to take to the San Antonio OTF convention and give to a friend. It'll be Rumsey's four-color N.11, which had a replacement lower left wing that was in CDL. What color should the outline be? Black? Dark grey? Another color?
