As sometimes happen, they were too few and too late. Russia always suffered 
a lack of engines and inadequate armamment. The problems in establishing a 
reliable production made the design obsolete and the purpose of the machines 
changed by the time they were fielded.
It was a very original aircraft, but more adequate to training duties than 
to fighting.
