[WWI] List inactive?

Joe, the S.16 appeared in early 1915, so it was a fairly advanced design for the time. There were only 35 built (but five versions of those) and they were intended to be escorts for the Ilya Moromets bombers.
I don't know why, but it always seems I pick subjects that are not "stock". I like building planes associated with well-known pilots, and a lot of them flew unique planes.
I got drawn into this project like many others. I bought an S.16 kit, then looked for information about one flown by a famous pilot. I found a profile in "The Imperial Russian Air Service" book of a plane flown by Juri Gilsher, and it had an interesting story. It was the only S.16 I could find associated with a specific pilot. The profile looked harmless enough at first glance, so I decided on that. Comparing kit parts and drawings, though, I realized I was looking at a plane different in almost every conceivable way from the kit. But I still wanted a model of Gilsher's plane, so the chopping has started.......

                                                J.R. Boye

Well! Thanks for all of your updates!
"I'm working on a Sikorsky S.16 right now."
I google'd that particular flying machine, it looks nice, when were thay designed? And: A tiny pain in the butt?! Tell me, what parts of the kit have you left intact?!
