Use a small drill, drill holes in the two halves of the axle, add a short bit of brass or steel wire, stupid glue it. Alternative 2: the axle on the SE goes a ways down the lower strut, carve the axle section out, replace with plastic rod or wire, and glue with appropriate glue. Those kinds of accidents have happened to me more times than I care to remember, except it's usually me (sober) doing the damage...

Subject: [WWI] Help

Dear Fellow modelers,
I am currently building the Wingnut Wings Se5a and after many weeks of research and worrying I finally attached the undercarriage complete with painted wheels. Two days later a drunken friend knocked the box which contained the drying model off the table. Everything was OK until I noticed that the crash had broken the left hand wheel axle. When I touched it, as one does, it came off in me hand. From bitter experience I know this will not be an easy or strong fix. Does any one have any suggestions?
If I had another wheel axle I could build another version as Wingnut have given an alternative. I should not have assembled the undercarriage with the wheels on as I know the dangers but I wanted to see what it looked like. It looked great. beware of drunken friends.I do not drink.
                                                                                                                                                       Regards, Ralph Pattison, Melbourne, Australia
