Lovely F2b although I think I'm yet to see a built example with the
cowling covers on. <
Wanted to, but couldn't due to not seating the engine bearers well enough.
I wish now I'd gone with the original plan, which was to dummy up some
mounts for the exhausts and aircrew, fake the few visible engine bits and
build it completely closed. The engine could then have gone on a dolly
beside the model, like Duxford has done with theirs.

One of the guys at our club built a Wingnuts F2b and used elastic
rigging and made a good job of it. As a result of this the wings tend to
'wobble' when the model is moved around. I think I would choose a
rigging material with less elasticity in an attempt to hold the wings
more rigidly.

The thing is Dave, it's wobbly anyway. IIRC Ray Rimell pointed this out in
his build (he did manage a couple of cowling panels in place, BTW). If you
have stiff enough wire that it will not bow, then I'd agree with you, but I
don't know what would work yet still be in scale. The RB PE wires I used are
certainly not strong enough. My point with the elastic is, the model
shouldn't wobbly enough to cause damage to it's structure, so the priority
then is using a rigging material that won't deform. Elastic can be installed
in a sensible amount of time, and if fairly tight will impart some
stability.
IMHO etc. I'll not even begin with the little fold-up PE attachment ponts
that RB make, except to say that I may try them on the Roden SE5as when I
get around to them, but they'd soon have been lost had I tried to use them
on the F2b.
