Oh,,,NOOOOOOOO!

I've done a few albatri and I had never realized...

The thickness of a sheet of paper..

I knew those roden kits were bad. and the eduard too. BUT not THAT bad..

Maybe the original wheels were mastered from slightly deflated
tires..(hopefully, I mean..)

I did some measuring last night to see what I could learn. I compared the
Eduard 1/72nd scale Albatros D.V wheels to the Roden Albatros D.V kit
wheels. The Roden wheels are larger than the Eduard ones by about the
thickness of a sheet of paper.

I checked the size of the wheels against both the Osprey and Windsock
Datafile drawings/profiles. Again the Eduard wheels appear to be too small
by about the thickness of a single piece of paper. We are talking about
VERY small differences. If I didn't have calipers out to measure them with,
I would not have been able to detect a difference of that size.

If anyone has these 1/72nd scale Cooper resin wheels, could he/she please
measure the difference in sizes between them and the kit wheels and let us
know how much bigger they are?

Yes thats an interesting point Patrick, I remember when I first got the
Cooper wheels I compared them to the Eduard kit parts and thought the
difference wasn't worth bothering about. In 1/48 it's a different matter
altogether. I should dig them out and take a side by side photo . . .

My understanding has always been that the 1/48th scale wheels are the ones
that are incorrectly sized. I have not heard of that issue about the 1/72nd
scale Albatros kit wheels.
