Whatever the problem, it seems to have cleared itself.  Thank you all for you kind words.  It was really a very easy build.  And thank you for that great link to "C" Flight, Douglas.  I still am uncertain of the color.  If it's cdl , it's pretty dark.  Would the heat affect cdl like that?
