Steve!
I'd go with all struts red. The tonal difference can be explained by the
fact that the undercarriage always receive lots of oil and dirt (and this
was a very worn airframe!), therefore it reflects light differently, hence
the slight difference in tone. Besides, the portions of the cowl that are
receing light more or less in the same angle than the UC struts are lighter
as well. That's my theory, at least.

I'm out of wisecracks. Maybe I used too many earlier this morning.

I should go to the wisecrack shop and get some cheap ones, for everyday use.
