Yes, I've also heard 209th was called that - I actually think by Wentzl.

This is interesting. I also thought that. But paintings (and yes, I know
that they're *paintings*, not photos) I've seen depicting either May's 21
April bird, and LeBoutiller's, show green noses. But a very nice photo in
the older Osprey U.S. Aces book has a photos of "Boots" with a Camel said to
be his, dark-nosed, with the aforementioned bare, cleanly-demarcated section
of cowl. I'd love to find other shots of this fighter, as it would be one
I'd be very keen to model.
