      For my Ford ambulance reference, I was lucky enough to find a book called "Friends of France" at a book sale when I was 13.
      It is one of my treasures. Besides lots of photos of the ambulances and drivers, it is full of personal accounts and histories. Also, being published in 1916, it has a pull-out letter which ends with an appeal for volunteer drivers.
      There were a number of variations in ambulance bodies, along with field modifications. It's good to find a specific vehicle to model.
