Glen Merrill's Jasta 12 booklet shows more than one D.V.
The first, 2005/17 (Albatroswerke/Johannisthal) shows an ex-works machine with a headrest. It has a black rear fuselage EXCEPT that the black is not filled in around the fuselage cross--it's not filled in with white either, just left in natural wood. There's also a portside weights table. Note the manufacturer, which usually determines the shape of the green/mauve camouflage on the wings.
The second, 2194/17(?) (Alb./Johan.) shows a completely black fuselage and tail group with a (probably) white spinner, wheel covers, and struts. The weights table was overpainted.
HTH.
