Mike you answered the part I was curious about, the kit was typical Maquettes,' very messed up', especially considering the whopping price. I have a tendency to hope for those outfits to get better (like Eduard,Dragon, and others have) but some insist on doing the same awful 'work' again and again. Hideous.

Merrill, I had read Ray Rimell's review in Windsock International where he listed the things that would have to be done to make it an acceptable model. I can't find the reference in my incomplete reference index, perhaps someone else can fill you in. I know I have the magazine so if someone could clue me in, I'll get a copy of it for you. I sold the kit earlier this year. I guess I just wasn't up to doing all that you would have to do to make a PE kit look like a good model of the real aircraft. The white metal engines would need quite a bit of work too, especially as so much of them is exposed. I have an engine manual somewhere from WWI AERO that I was going to use for detailing plus photos taken of the example at the USAF Air Museum. All of us have heard rumors from time to time that an injected kit is forthcoming and that also helped my decision to sell it. I'll keep looking for the review article.

Mike reference the Caproni, how was the kit? Maquettes has not had the highest quality, historically.
