I still have my old dog-eared copy of Iron Men with Wooden Wings. I always
thought it was a great read, though of course much of it needs to be taken
with many grains of salt these days...

I read "They Fought for the Sky", the first chapters of Johnnie Johnsons
"Full Circle", and "Iron Men with Wooden Wings", by Lou Cameron, in the mid
1960's (the 50th anniversary years) They are not particularly 'accurate', (
they have errors in dates, persons, equipment and events) but all were good
reading. More recent scholarship has been much more precise and better
vetted, but generally less 'fun'. FWIW

Neil,
It has been so long ago that I read it I can't say how accurate it is but it
was an enjoyable read.
