[WWI] Non Scientific Poll

Actually, the 'delay' you're seeing is not a part of the system being used,
but due to the speed of your internet connection. You're seeing those
transitions instead of a blank white browser window while waiting for the
image to load. This method actually loads the images faster, as it doesn't
have to rely on the browser to open a separate window (or tab), which puts
less of a burden on the computers viewing the images (I have had complaints
in the past about how opening images in separate windows caused the browser
to crash; that won't happen here).
