In my never-ending search for Rolls Royce Armoured Car info, I ran across the following OT books about the war in Libya, Palestine, etc. Of these, only the 1st is really RRAC oriented and is highly recommended to modelers of same for the info (not pix) it contains.
All are reprints published by Leonaur Books, www.leonaur.com -- I got them from Amazon. The ISBN's for each are HC (hardcover) and SC (softcover).
"Steel Chariots of the Desert", by S.C. Rolls, subtitled "The First World War Experiences of a Rolls Royce Armoured Car Driver with the Duke of Westminster in Libya and in Arabia with T.E. Lawrence". A really good book that gives a super picture of armoured car operations from tactics to driving and maintaining one.
ISBN-10 HC: 1-84677-019-X, SC: 1-84677-005-X
"The Fighting Cameliers", by Frank Reid, subtitled "The exploits of the Imperial Camel Corps in the Desert & Palestine Campaigns of the First World War". No RRAC, well maybe one small ref, but interesting anyway. If nothing else it proves the tactic of foot charges across open ground into well-defended positions was common everywhere.
ISBN-10 HC: 1-84677-035-1, SC: 1-84677-025-4
"Armoured Cars in Eden", by K. Roosevelt, subtitled "An American President's Son Serving in Rolls Royce Armoured Cars with the British in Mesopotamia & with the American Arillery in France during the First World War". There is maybe one useful page of RRAC info in the book, and the rest of it is more of a tour guide than history -- big picture context is almost completely missing. Of the three, this should be last on your reading list, IMHO.
ISBN-10 HC: 1-84677-096-3, SC: 1-84677-090-4
