Concerned about the apparent complete lack of regard for the modeling community demonstrated by SC Johnson, I sent an email to the consumer products group in follow up to the response posted by Tom last week.  Below is the response.  We can all be happy now, we matter to them!

Michael,

After reviewing the response which was sent to your friend and fellow modeler, I wanted to follow up with you regarding the information that was initially shared with him.

Future® is still being manufactured, but is now named Pledge® with Future® Shine. The formula of the product has not changed. It is true; however, that Pledge® with Future® Shine has not been tested for use on plastic scale models so we cannot recommend it for that purpose. As you know we’ve designed this product for floor care.

It sounds as if Future® found a special niche with plastic scale model builders, and we are happy that it has worked well for you. Thank you for giving us a chance to set the record straight.

Dear Melissa,

How can SC Johnson possibly justify NOT testing its products on Plastic Scale Models?  We modelers have been ardent supporters of Future Floor polish for many years, if not decades.  We must number in the thousands, and must account for the purchase of at least 50 gallons of Future per 

year.  Can you not see the irreperable damage SC Johnson is doing to its business by abandoning us?????

Please, reconsider!
