Merrill,
Thank you for your interest in the review.
There is more to building the various marks of Eindekker than replacing engines, rear fuel tank covers and engine fairings.
As mentioned in the article, the E.II and E.III had different filler arrangements for the combination oil/fuel tank.
These are the caps located next to the machine gun. Eduard do not supply the E.II arrangement.
This is a different issue to the main tank behind the pilot.
The fuselage of the E.I is also a different length to the E.II/III.
Just these issues alone prohibit one from building *all three marks of the Eindekker from what’s in the box*.
The E.I/E.II/E.III series is a complicated one and upgrading of old airframes causes even more confusion.
Designations changed after repair work had been carried out with the latest improvements.
Hence the debate with wing lengths amongst other things.
Cheers
Rob B

… BTW, if you read Rob B's review of the kit in Hyperscale, he's wrong, you can make all 3 marks of the Eindekker from what's in the box, they give you a seven cylinder motor, as well as the 9, and there's a'blank' rear deck piece to replace the fuel filler capped one, and both early and late versions of the engine fairings. The only thing missing for the earliest 'Ein' is a Parabellum MG, and Part makes a beautiful PE one…
