Howdy Gang,
I know you have been waiting patiently to find out about our contest. Please
keep in mind that the goal of this contest is to promote model building and
defeat AMS
After much deliberation I've decided on the following:
*THE RULES:*
1. We are actually going to have *two* contests running at the same time.
2. The first contest is the Dr.I contest: Build any 1/72, non-profipack,
plastic model of a Dr.I or F.1. No resin kits.
3. The second contest is the Nieuport 17 contest: Build any 1/72,
non-profipack, plastic model of a Nieuport 17. No resin kits.
4. This is to be considered an out of the box build. Do not kit bash, add
photo-etch, reposition control surfaces or scratchbuild anything on the
model.
5. Seat belts from tape, foil, decal paper etc are allowed. No photo etch.
6. Rigging is optional.
7. Any markings may be used. Kit decals, aftermarket decals, home made
decals and fictitious markings are all acceptable.
8. Enter as many models as you like.
9. Please remain anonymous. Everyone will get credit once the contest is
over.
*TIMETABLE:*
1. The contest starts immediately. So get busy!
2. I will accept photos until March 8th. You have two full months to acquire
and build your model(s). Work in progress pictures are STRONGLY encouraged.
3. We will have open voting for one week. Winners will be announced on March
15th. There will be no recount.
*PRIZES:*
1. There will be one Fokker Dr.I winner and one Nieuport 17 winner. Each
winner will receive a $50 gift certificate to Roll Models.
2. There will be prizes awarded to random entrants. Don't be afraid to
participate because you think your models aren't good enough. You have an
opportunity to win stuff even if your model is smeared with glue and giant
fingerprints.
*HOW TO ENTER:*
1.Send pictures of your model to brent at rollmodels.com. The pictures need to
be in jpg format, no larger than 640 pixels wide and 72 dpi. Please do not
use my gmail address.
2. Work in progress pictures are STRONGLY encouraged.
3. Your work will be published online at the Roll Models contest web site. I
will strive to update the pages daily - but I can't promise to do so.
4. This contest is open to everyone. Feel free to promote the contest in
other online forums. The more the merrier I say!
So that's it! I think I covered everything. If I have forgotten something,
or you have questions, please let me know. I'll do my best to answer and
accommodate you.
Remember, the goal here is complete some models and to have fun. I want to
help my online friends defeat AMS.
Brent
