[WWI] Drills

How do you not break these drills?

Plus, I've heard to use an actual pin first, to mark where the hole will go?

I just know I'm tired of my method for rigging, and want to change.  
Granted, I'll probably still use wire, but at the very least I will 
drill through the fuselage and stick one end of the wire through that.
