Seeing as how I'm yet to start building, it may seem a bit odd that I'm contributing to this thread.
But as my stash keeps growing, I've adopted the tyrannical approach I had as a kid.
It has to be 1/72 on the grounds that that was the first scale I discovered and I didn't have enough room in my bedroom when I found the Aurora 1/48 WW1 kits - even if there was a Pfalz D.III to be had!
And it has to have been flown in service within the 14-18 period. So the Vimy, for instance, is out. Even if Helen's grandfather was in the same class at school as Alcock.
I know that the list has wider parameters than mine, but Hell, my stash is well over 100 kits now and I've got massive gaps - no Taube's, no Bleriot's, no Bristol monoplanes and few pushers.
And I avoid buying stuff that is in current production. Those kits will be about for years on e-Bay or whatever succeeds it.
FWIW
Chris.
