I finished the Hispano Suiza that comes with the SPAD VII earlier this week and can attest to its bearishness. The main problem is that the nubs on the bottom cylinder cases don't fit into the circles on top of the cylinder head. There are some gaps that need filling, too. Also, there's a note that is packed separately advising you leave off the cylinder head covers and some of the plumbing -- unless you want to leave off the cowling. That said, the finished product does look sweet.
Marc, I have recently completed the same assembly. Just a note here. Roden says the parts are "Not Necessary" for the cowled version. The burning question is does that equate to This stuff won't fit if you use it and the cowl panels? Had to trim between the cylinders to get a good fit into the circles. I only hope the angle fits when everything else goes together! One other question. The other Hissos I have done were for SE5As. Black cylinder banks and Aluminum for the rest. The SPAD calls for all to be Aluminum. Is this correct? By the way Happy New Year to all!
