Vac provide many benefits, and drawbacks too. If you have the patience, and a well stocked spares box ( I do not know the quality of this kit) then yes, by all means have a go. $6 is not too bad a price for some fun and developing a new skill.

Subject: [WWI] Is a vac-form worth trying?
Hi,
Saw a vac-form Martinsyde for sale on line for $6 and thought I'd like to give it a go.
I'm a decidedly average modeler.
I tried a resin kit once, and broke pretty much every strut whilst trying to get them off the blocks, and put the kit away till I got better/more patient.
Do you think it would be worth trying vac-form?
Is there a lot of scratchbuilding etc. involved? I feel comfortable making struts now ;)
I won't be doing much to the interior, its for hanging from the ceiling.
TIA
