Shane,
good to hear that you are all OK and away from the danger areas. Although I have friends and relations in Oz and therefore have a rough idea of its geography, I didn't know where you or S&L were.
And thank you for sharing Dorothea Mackellar's poem. OK, the pundits may never rate it as great poetry, but who cares? That was written from the heart, with passion and is all the more powerful for that. A smashing piece of colourful writing.
I note you describe it as "one of my favourite explanations of what Australia means to many Australians". Not "to me". Or even "to me and many other Australians". Putting space 'twixt you and it?!
