Hi Matt;
Please be sure to read the chapter on Bishop in "Victoria Cross" by Alex Revell (Flying Machines Press) as a preface to anything else about him.
I'm not sure if any more research has come to light on his career since that was written in 1997, but it was an eye opener for me. If there is anything more recent and better researched, I would be interested to know about it.

Matt,
Word
of warning. .. DO NOT BOTHER with McCaffrey's book. It was a very poor read in
which he makes various claims, but has no supporting material in it .. ie the
fact that he included it is supposed to be proof enough. . a German ace was shot
down on a day that Bishop was flying. . etc etc.
However Bishop's son has an interesting book which is probably a good
counterpoint to Greenhous and is called "Courage in the Early Morning". Bishop
himself wrote Winged Warfare
