Ain't that the TRUTH. I sell pretty regular on eBay, and while I happily ship worldwide, I refuse to ship to Italy. Easily about a third of the packages that I've sent there in the past "disappeared" in the Italian mail system...and in each case the US Customs Tracking Form shows that it arrived in Italy safely, just to be stolen no doubt by corrupt Italian customs/postal workers. And the poor Ebay seller then has to refund for non-delivery per eBay policy. My best friend out of San Francisco was hired to work for eBay in their payment/dispute office solely because he speaks fluent Italian, and he has told me that 55% of complaints for International sales all involve "lost" (stolen) packages to Italy (second place is China...not exactly a good track record to be compared to). IMHO
Again, to put that in some kind of context,
one particular European country is becoming well known for its non
deliveries. And the way e-Bay/Paypal is set up, sellers have to re-imburse
for non delivery. Maybe it was an e-Bay seller who gave its leader a
busted nose?
Chris.
