Just how good (acurate) are the offerings from Osprey?

Datafiles seem to be held in some kind of semi-religious awe. So far, I only own one (No. 2, Sopwith Pup).  And it fell way short of my expectations. I was chuffed as nuts when I secured it from e-Bay for £15 (many previous auctions had finished at twice that price). I was really disappointed when it arrived.

The Osprey book on the same subject was a) 1/3 of the price and b) appears to offer a load more information.  But is it accurate?
