I agree completely. But it also occurs to me that you are preaching to the choir. We are the ones that need to be convinced. Albatros is.

All,
That is perhaps true, however give some thought to this. It's unlikely that Albatros Publishing will reprinted. Electronic format might just be an economical format. Yes, there will be some theft. But there are plenty of copyright violations now when people make photo copies of printed material and distribute them to friends. Like some poeple here. I'm coming to this late and many of the Datafiles I'd like to for modlling reference are long out of print. This leaves either, going without, paying large prices on Ebay and such, or illegal online copies. Albatros gets nothing from any of these sources.
How many of us would be willing to buy out of print Datafiles in PDF format for a reasonable cost knowing that they are free of bugs and virus' and are legitimate and legal? Certainly some of us are. I like to think that most of us are so willing. From Albatros' perspective, they aren't getting anything from the .pdf's on the web now. Isn't some income for the old Datafiles better than none?
Just a thought.

Hei,
It is unlikely that they will be able to sell Datafiles as .pdf files,
soon after the first have been sold are we going to see them pop up all
over the web.
Especially if you know enough Russian to find your way around
East-European web sites can you find a lot of material in .pdf and also in
.dvju format.
The .dvju format is much better for a combination of text and photos, you
get better resolution and a smaller file.
So I think Albatross policy of reprinting or updating/expanding sold out
issues is likely to continue - besides I prefer to study a printed copy,
even if the digital ones are easier to travel with.
It might be an idea to have some sort of "wish list" on the web site where
members could post kits / books/ magazines they are looking for and at
what price - some of us travel around and browse shops all over the world.
(I have found a good model shop for Asian kits in Kota Kinabalu)
