Can't answer your question of value but Special Hobby does pretty  
good kits. This one claims to be the single-seat version.
FWIW, Omega Models released three resin kits a couple of  years ago:  
"Ni-X" is the single-seat, another "Ni-X" is the two-seater late  
version, and "Ni.XB" is the two-seater early version. All have nicely  
done major parts but would benefit from replacement of fiddly bits  
with PE, metal, or styrene. See:
