I don't think steel wool or micromesh would work too well on silver paints though, would it? I've seen some truly appalling brush painted "natural metal" paint jobs...

And despite the various blending/stippling techniques I've seen I still think soft edged camo looks far better sprayed.

But then I'm a heavily biased die-hard airbrush user...
