[WWI] Machine gun color question.

Hi Patrick,
The guns I've seen in museums have been a metallic blue-almost-black colour which can be difficult to replicate in model form. Guns are not painted, the metal is "blued" - perhaps the gun aficionados can elaborate on that process as I really don't know what it is. 

My favourite Gunmetal paint is Humbrol Metalcote Gunmetal. It really replicates the look of gunmetal better than any other paint I've tried and it also polishes up to a nice sheen. I'll sometimes mix a bit of dark blue in for a subtle blued look.
