I am a July birthday, my sons are both July birthdays, a sister-in-law is a July birthday along with her first son, etc. I like to joke that it comes from the 'cuddling' that occurs as those first really crisp autumn nights hit in October. On the other hand, my wife is a September birthday -- but then, her parents had just gotten married in late November the year previous....

So far, September is tied with December at 1st place. I was born in September, and I can bet many others were, because of Western traditions. Christmas and New Years are at the end of December, and September is 9 months later, people tend to gather, celebrate and imbibe at those times, so making 'whoopie' is a pretty natural result. Further, in the northern hemisphere, those are the 'shortest' days of the year, with long cold nights, so cuddling is increased, making late December a 'popular' time. FWIW
