Aeroclub 1/48 RE8, which was thought to be OOP for good - there was a rumour about a mold been broken - is available again! Got mine a couple of weeks ago from Aeroclub (and I have another box coming from Sweden, a mail order I had forgotten all about!). 
 
Since I see this kit now for the first time, I'm not sure, but there is some parts that look new and definitely different from the parts in the construction drawing. There is a good looking engine, alternative chin parts for the nose and some cockpit detail all molded separately in resin part style, tho the parts are of plastic
 
 
Mikko, yes it sounds as though they have made changes. The interior and engine pieces were originally in white metal. This could make it much easier to use as the white metal was difficult to make adjustments(read as filing, hacking,dremeling, etc.), Resin is a much easier medium when adjusting for fit!
