[WWI] Rigging

Thanks for the comments everyone! They mean a lot to me because I know you all do great work. As you can tell, I like to model subjects with some known history or interest to me.

Chris, most of your questions about "invisible" thread have already been excellently answered.
Generally, I use this for longer runs- between struts, etc. I like it because you can stretch it a bit and get a perfectly even, straight line. I don't even paint it and it looks great to me. Most times I substitute brass rod for styrene rod on the models so it can take a little tension when I am rigging.
Stretched sprue is great for short, hard-to-anchor applications. I use it for control lines to horns and other places where any tension will not work. You can poke it into a fuselage hole and it will just stay there without glue if the other end is secured. That is very handy. It is also good for tight places, like inner struts because you can place it with tweezers.
I made a whole bunch of it one afternoon, cut out the best sections and put them in a box for whenever I need it. I just stretched silver/grey sprue so I don't paint it either. By doing it all at once, I could get into the groove and get pretty consistent results. Also my fume exposure (which really isn't bad- the candle paraffin smelled more) was limited.

                                     J.R. Boye
