Shane the Younger shows the upper part of the display, but not the lower, where there was a 5 page storyboard giving a summary of how the model *accidentally* started a 4 year around the world trip. The last page was a photo of the GWICC members at Scale Modelworld, with Halbie in our group display, and a caption which said something along the line of "The real prize - friends from all over the globe"

I spent about half of the 2 day show manning our club stand, and answered a lot of questions. The two most constant comments were "what a great story" and "I can't believe it survived"
 
On the Sunday night we packed up and being tired and in a hurry, I packed the Halbie in it's acrylic display case with a couple of small bits of dacron fibre, rather than in it's actual travelling box. 
 
My son carried a box of our stuff into our home, and in a rush up the back stairs, tripped and spilled the lot.
 
After 4 years travelling thousands of kilometres with only minor damage, the model  lost two interplane struts and the entire gun ring in the 20 metres from the car to my study.
 
You have to laugh...
