I'll concede that the Margaret Rutherford of seaplanes (Sunderland) and the James Cagney of bombers (Stirling) may have had some merit. But apart from them......?

Well, we have the Calcutta, Crusader (racer) and Singapore to name a few. The empire series of flying boats were all lovely
and the Mercury top half of the composite was a great looker. Nearer OT I think the early Short biplanes were fairly decent
looking for their day (1909). The Short Tucano is a fine looking (though sadly modern) aircraft.

Have to agree about the Blackburn Kangaroo, and they did a nice looking racer called the Pellet .

On the other hand we have some companies like Spad and DeHavilland who never made an ugly aircraft.
