Go and wash your mouth out

Personally, the Short 184 has always been one of my favourites. I don't
agree that it was ugly; I always felt that the 184 had a certain
colonial eligance about it. However, I would agree that many of Shorts
earlier efforts lacked a certain something in the design department,
many being simply boxes with wings. I'm going back to my hole to sulk
now!

Can I also 'pay homage' to a great build off this wonderful seaplane.
Great build and a well deserved prize winner Buz!

Regards

Dave

I'd like to echo those sentiments. And, without appearing towards
favouritism (or perhaps I am!), Buz, you have turned an ugly old bird
into a thing of beauty.

My father reckoned that the better a plane looked, the better it would
fly. Consequently, he never could understand how anything that came
from the Short Brothers factory (with the possible exception of the
Sunderland) ever clambered into the sky.

But then he was spoilt - he spent most of his time swanning around in
Spits.
