It's not errors I was referring to, rather his conviction once he's right
when he comes up with a new theory. His insistance on the Aerodrome board
that his Fokker E.V/D.VIII streaked wing theory is a "fact" comes to
mind.... I have no doubt about his expertise, but a little humility wouldn't
go amiss now and then!

Harsh! Dan been wrong, and proven wrong several times over the years, new
discoveries have been changing a good deal of what was accepted, but hes
been working on markings for a long time, and a few wrong guesses are OK
with me, FWIW
