Kerry, how old is your daughter?

For very basic, I liked the Gurney book, I think it was called "Air Aces of World War One". I read that in fourth grade, but I still see copies around.
"Iron Men" is fairly racy in parts. It is an entertaining read, but it is just full of errors and exaggerations.
I thought "They Fought for the Sky" by Quentin Reynolds was very solid, but pretty lengthy.
"Canvas Falcons" by Longstreet is not bad, and was republished by Barnes and Noble in 1995, so that may be easier to find. Amazon is a good place to start.

                                      J.R. Boye

Subject: [WWI] Need help with a term paper

Greetings,

My daughter has decided to write a term paper on WWI aviation for her
college history class. While I have a number of reference books and
journals,
I'm at a loss to put my finger on anything general enough to describe
the big
picture. I thought I'd ask the list for your favorite books, articles,
etc of a
general nature. I'm thinking the obvious points to cover are those such
as the
rapid development of aeronautics, the end of chivalry, the role of
two-seaters,
air combat, etc. Anything else she should cover? Any advice would be
appreciated.

I recently found Smithsonian Annals of Flight series online... some of
these are OT.

Thanks, -K-
