Robert,

Which BLUE RIDER kit did you get? I probably have it and I can answer what questions you may have.

  Hi Buz,

Thank you for writing. I am really looking for something challenging and unique, and this is why I am interested in Vacs. :-) I really like to take my time with things too, so they seem right up my alley.

One of the kits I purchased is from eBay, and is from Blue Rider. I did not see them listed on Diego's list. It has not arrived as yet, but could be here around Wednesday. I understand it has white metal parts with it.

I guess until I learn the ropes a bit, I will need to post my inquiries to the list to get opinions. :-)

    Robert,

I enjoy building 1/72 scale vacuforms. In someways I prefer a vacuform kit over the conventional injected molded kit. Keep in mind vacuform kits are not for the faint of heart. Building a vacuform kit can and is just short of scratch building. As for kit availability Ebay is your best bet to find them. SIERRA vacuform kits are probably the most consistant when it comes to molding; however, SIERRA is no longer in business. All is not lost. You can obtain SIERRA, FORMAPLANE, JOYSTICK, WARBIRDS(Rareplanes), WINGS 72, SCALEPLANES/LIBRAMODELS and ROSEPLANE through Ebay. Some vacuform kits can obtained from AEROCLUB, ROLL MODELS and other mail order modeling shops. One word about FORMAPLANE. Not all of their kits are bad. The earlier moldings of FORMAPLANE are great and they were cast by Les Cooper and the late great Joe Chubock. In fact Joe Chubock did vacuform molds for various model lables such as FORMAPLANE, JOYSTICK, SCALEPLANES/LIBRAMODELS and ROSEPLANE. If you have any specific questions about vacuform kits give me a shout. Also you can look at my gallery on the website. I have a few vacuform kits on there.

Buz ( Oh! Yes! I forgot to mention BLUE RIDER!)
