[WWI] Paint stripping advice???

I'm re-learing my modeling skills after the long summer break away from it
by working on a couple of Monogram Camels.   For the first time I've
encountered an orange peal finish I can't live with

 

How does one remove old paint other than by sanding?

 

I've heard to use hydraulic (brake) fluid or oven cleaner, but can't
remember which, and what brand works best in the US?  '
