[WWI] Help on Mack truck

Hi all,

I was seduced by the RPM Mack AC tanker (no doubt the Camel in the
background had some importance in the decision!). The painting suggests a
scenario in France but I have many doubts about that US color scheme. Is it
real? Can you help with references supporting it?

Were US trucks used to refuel directly RFC or RAF airplanes or only to
transport the fuel?

The RPM kit is very nice and detailed, but the instructions are only in
Polish and I don't think I have any source ou information on the subject.

Links to the kit box and part of the instructions:

I only have a few references on trucks - the Blandford book by Chris Ellis
(very inspiring, but no Macks!) and some articles in old numbers of Airfix
Magazine. Can you help suggesting some general reference books?

Thanks in advance!
Carlos
