[WWI] The Kaiser's and Emperor's Flying Navies in 1/72 scale

Hello all,

First off, many thanks for all the warm welcomes I received in response to my proper self introduction. This seems like a great, and slightly insane, bunch of folks.

While I continue working on the 1/48 W.4, I will proceed with research for a "down the road project"; a 1/72 collection of all the Planes flown by the Kaiser's Navy, and Planes flown by the Emperor's Navy, as, like Dan Hartz, I am finding I have a real affinity for A-H aircraft, particularly all the Lohner flying boats.

The main stipulation is that the aircraft represented actually be a flying boat, be on floats, or have been converted to floats. An example of this would be the Staaken on floats, a photo which is on the back of the Alex Imrie book....next to the CMR H-B W. 20 the Staaken would be quite a sight.

The following list is what I was able to come up with surfing sites like Squadron, Joe's Models, Roll, etc. Not very scientific but a good way to begin finding out what is actually available. I would think that along with eBay and the various forums, one would eventually be able to gather all that is, or was, in production as a model.

    CMR - H-B W.20
    CMR - Hansa W.12/III
    CMR - Hansa W.12/5

Toko, Eastern Express, MPM - H-B W. 29 (I'm not sure which are dupes.)
    Pegasus - H-B W.29

    Roden - Albatros W.4

    Choroszy Modelbud - Friedrichshafen FF 33/F, H, & L
Choroszy Modelbud - Gotha GI UWD
    Choroszy Modelbud - H-B CC
    Choroszy Modelbud - H-B KDW
    Choroszy Modelbud - Oeffag-Mickl Type H
    Choroszy Modelbud - Lohner M31, S30, L47, R1

So that is a beginning. It is my hope that those of you who are interested will add to the list and, once completed, perhaps there's somewhere it can be posted on the site.

    Regards,
    Michael
